I believe in love...the kind that made my mom accept my dad's proposal after 3 weeks and enjoy a 40+ year partnership...the kind that brings tears to my eyes during the first dance song every time...the kind that lasts through the hills of a beautiful wedding and the valleys of challenges. I believe in the amazing blessing of God giving us people in our lives to stand beside us long after the aisle.
Even after 10 years of being behind the camera, I am still always humbled and honored to be chosen to preserve memories. I look on my wall at 100 year old images that have been passed down in my family and imagine how much connection will be created over the generations from my work. I love connecting with my clients through a shared passion for the Hill Country - the history of Gruene Hall, the clear water of the Guadalupe and Blanco Rivers, the taste of Fredericksburg peaches, Americana music paired with a glass of wine in Wimberley, or a Boerne B&B with sweet tea and rocking chairs. I believe in seeking beauty in all things, sharing inspirational stories and telling yours through this art.
Books: The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells, Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and Rising Strong by Brene Brown as well as anything by Nicholas Sparks. I love to get lost in the low-country.
Food: Bluebell Ice Cream and Fresh Gulf Shrimp
Music: the sweet sound of a violin or mandolin
As you commit to each other, my commitment to you is to create art from the details that you have so carefully chosen, the authentic emotion expressed, and the genuine love you share. With a light and airy style cultivated over 10 years of experience and education, it is my goal to preserve the day while helping you to be as relaxed as sitting on a back porch swing holding hands and watching fireflies dance across the yard.

1. Now you're engaged, but don't stop "dating." Even after the wedding, prioritize spending special evenings together. Plan stay-cations, try new restaurants/activities/recipes together.
2. Allow the process of planning to be an experience. Think of arrangements as accomplishments and opportunities for communication, not just one more thing you HAVE to do. Include moms, bridesmaids, your favorite aunt. Let the preparation be a fun activity and excuse to spend time together.
3. If on a budget, save the honeymoon for your 1 year anniversary. Stay in a sweet little local B&B for the night, catch up on rest and let the trip have it's own glory while you soak in the memories from your wedding day.
4. Choose or change into comfortable shoes for the reception. Your feet will thank me for this one.
5. Have a role for each of your wedding party members. ie.Allison places your veil, Brooke helps with your shoes, Lauren puts on your bracelet, Mom buttons your dress, his mom pins boutonnieres. Everyone feels special and is included in photos beyond the formals.
6. Read Tim Keller's book, "Meaning of Marriage". It is my prayer that my couples have a marriage that lasts a lifetime.
7. Donate your floral arrangements. You've carefully chosen these works of art and elegance. Let them be appreciated the week after the wedding by a local women's shelter by arranging for someone in your bridal party to deliver them.
8. Order prints of your wedding photos to use in your Thank You's. I'll deliver your gallery in an appropriate amount of time to do so. I recommend Mpix.com for anything 8x10 and under and love the character of images on wood by the Texas based, family owned Smallwoodhome.com. They're both reasonably priced and great quality.
9. Have a 2-week cut off from "wedding stuff" so that you can thoroughly enjoy the moments leading up to the big day.
10. I wouldn't be a wedding photographer without adding this one...do not keep your memories sitting in files on your computer. Print your favorite images as wall art for your home to remind you of the happiness you share. Why I chose to be a wedding photographer...I want you be reminded of the blessing of your marriage by the image you shuffle past with a smile as you make your way to bed with the love of your life decades from now.

As a wedding photographer, I get to see people on their most beautiful, very best days. Still, I know that the planning can be stressful and the marriage will not be perfect. So as a little added bonus, I've collected some of the best advice I know to shine some light on your path.
Just breathe...soak in the day, the time with family and friends, the look on his face when you come down the aisle, the touch of his hands as you dance. I don't want you to have to worry about everything happening on time, so I'm happy to help with creating a timeline that allows me to capture the details and important moments while you are able to enjoy them without feeling rushed. Trying to decide which package is best for you? Here are some sample timelines that you can compare while deciding on your priorities and needs.
