Howdy! Gig’em! Whoop!

To many, these words are just hullabaloo. But to a fellow Aggie, these words are connection.
They are time-honored tradition. They are the unveiling of experiences shared even if the years
on our class rings are not the same.
In the years that I attended Texas A&M University, I was shaped, enlightened, matured. I came
in as a small-town rodeo queen wanting to be a part of something bigger than myself,
something well-respected throughout the world, something challenging. I found myself in “the
other education” as a part of Aggie Fish Club, MSC Hospitality, the founding group of Howdy
Ags, Class Council, on Student Body President and Yell Leader campaign staffs, and in Sigma
Phi Lambda. I stood through games rain or shine, walked with the elephants and dunked my
ring on Northgate.
I received it the day that Bonfire fell. My couples may have walked under
the Century Tree years after I did, but our experiences in College Station read like companion
chapters of the same book.
We were pushed academically. We were instilled with character. We were proud of what we represented when we wore maroon. So whether you are honoring your Aggie roots with a bridal party full of college friends, a groom’s cake, the War Hymn at the end of the night or 12th Man towels for your send-off, know
that your photographer has a special appreciation for this legacy you both are a part of.
